Beginnings on the Soccer Field.
As he strolled from the parking lot just beyond the soccer field, a kluged contraption in hand, Edic Sliva's thoughts were anywhere but on starting a new Company. The father of three had already achieved start-up success with other ventures. This day he focused on providing relief to his daughter and her teammates as they competed under the hot Northern California sun.
At the time, Sliva scoured his garage workshop and cobbled together a self-contained system to help refresh and revitalize the team. Using spare parts from a hand-pumped sprayer, a drip system hose, some PVC tubing and a sprinkler head Sliva unknowingly created his first prototype. He appeared at the next game with his invention and began misting his players as they came off the field to help cool them down. Soon girls from the other team were circling the field asking for relief. By the end of the game, parents wanted to know where they could purchase that device. Sliva knew he was on to something big and shortly thereafter began work on the design now available.
The now patent pending product evolved over several years of design improvements from that inauspicious yet ingenious start back in 2000. What started out as an inventor's quick design effort to help cool off his daughter's Girls Under 8 soccer team has evolved into one of 2009's most innovative products. It was on that playing field that a new company was spawned and Liquid Shade was conceived as a Portable Misting Station to help reduce the risk of heat related injury and dehydration.
Ideal for outdoor sports teams competing in warm weather, Liquid Shade improves any lineup's performance since athletes play better when they feel better. The rugged, durable self-contained unit is lightweight and its large thread rubber wheels and retractable pull handle make it easy to roll from the car onto any field. Liquid Shade's reservoir holds 2.9 gallons of water and delivers hours of misting relief. The Mister achieves evaporative cooling by transferring water molecules as it sprays mist into the air. At the top of a telescopic riser that extends up to 70" high, is a quick disconnect mist head with four brass nozzles.
